Just Add Ink #10

I thought this weeks colour challenge over at Just Add Ink were great colours for an Easter Bunny. I've seen a lot of cute bunnies on the web lately so I decided to make one using a Sweet Treat Cup as his face and fill it up with little Easter Eggs. Yum! There is an Easter greeting behind the eggs that you can see when the tab is pulled to release the eggs. I really had fun making this cute bunny.

Recipe
Stamp Sets: Occasions for All, Something Sweet
Ink: Close to Cocoa, Cameo Coral
Marker: Choc Chip
Card: Kraft, Close to Cocoa, Cameo Coral, Blush Blossom
Punches: oval, small oval, circles 1 3/4", 3/4", 1/2", 1/4", round tab, scallop edge
Accessories: sweet treat cup, daubers, Kraft satin ribbon
.
Exciting news, my sister in-law is having her first baby today. So I've been waiting by the phone all day. Hopefully we can meet her or him tonight.

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #20.

Makeesha has a sketch challenge this week and I had been wanting to try a new technique, well new to me anyway, called Wet Watercolour Crayons. It's not really the Easter theme Makeesha asked for so I hope she won't mind, it did work really well with her sketch.
Wet Watercolouring is colouring straight onto the rubber stamp with watercolour crayons then spritz with water and then stamp onto watercolour paper. It works best with bold images like the Inspired by Nature set that I used but you can see it also works well with fine images like the dragonfly from Nature's Nest (Summer Mini) and the greeting from Whimsical Words ( SAB).

I added Chrystal Effects to the dragon fly and a few blobs to the leaves and grass to give the impression of drew drops. I've also crimmed the bottom panel and coloured in the dragon fly with an aqua painter.

Recipe

Stamps Sets: Inspired by Nature, Nature's Nest, Whimsical Words

Watercolour Wonder Crayons: So Saffron, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Always Artichoke, Going Grey, Basic Black

Ink: VersaMark

Card: Watercolour Paper,Rose Red, So Saffron, Going Grey

Tools: Crimmper

Punch: Designer Label

Accessories: Crystal Effects, So Saffron ribbon, black brads, Aqua Painter

Have a great weekend.

My new office space.

Hi, I really have caught the makeover bug. On the weekend I cleared out a corner of my craft room and turned it into an office space. The photo was taken before I put all my stuff on it, I'm really happy with how it looks. I plan to do the rest of the room but have to do it in stages. This is stage 1. There's a magnetic notice board, shelves, desk and I found a place mat, coasters and glasses in the new Stampin' Up! colour Rich Razzleberry. How good is that! I'll put pens and bits and pieces in the glasses. And of course the rest of the room is a huge mess. :)

This is Alex's bedroom makeover. He didn't make his bed real good and he doesn't want me to show everyone his private desk area, but you get the feel of the room from this photo.

Here is a close up of the print on his wall, is really wild. It has lots of weird things in it, one eyebrow is a paint brush and the other is a nail. Every time I look at it I can see something different. Alex is very happy with his new room.

This is a photo of Zach with his new toy storage unit. Jamie helped me build it, we had fun with the drill. Now his toys are under control ( I did get rid of quite a few things) I will rearrange his room so it works better. But that's next weekends job, I need a rest and the help of my decorator, my sister Karen.

Well I better go and clean up my craft room so I can do some stamping.
Have a great day.

Just Add Ink #9

Just Add Ink have a sketch challenge this week. I love sketch challengers, because all I have to do is pick which stamps to use and a colour combination. The hard part is done for us, the sketch. I choose the Fresh Cuts stamp set with a combination of pinks. The feature panel is heat embossed in clear powder then using daubers I applied ink in 3 pinks, using the lightest shade first. Pop over to Just Add Ink and see the great creations from the design team and the other entries of the challenge. Fantastic inspiration.
.
If your a challenge junkie, like me, there is still time to enter my March Colour Coach Challenge.

Recipe

Card: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Rose Red
Tools: Heat tool
Punches: corner rounder, small oval, eyelet boarder punch

Pretty Pink Daisy's.

Another busy week started with deciding to have a make over in Alex's room. I got my sister to come shopping with me, she is fantastic at decorating, and we got everything we needed in just a few hours. New bed cover, pillows, cushions, desk set, a huge red clock, bits and pieces, wow what a difference it makes, with the colour theme in grey, black and red, it looks awesome. Perfect for a teenage boy. I just need to get a lamp and something for the wall. We also rearranged the other kids rooms so there looking good too. I do need to get some sort of toy storage for Zach's room or maybe just get rid of some of his toys. :)
.
Monday I had to take Alex to get stitches in his face just at the end of his eyebrow, he ran into a pole at football training. As you can imagine there was lots of blood and his coach looked after him really well . It was his first time getting stitches, 5 in all, he was very brave.
.
We changed Internet providers this week and have had fun and games getting every ones computers connected. Of course we had problems with my computer, it kept dropping out. It seems to be working good today so fingers crossed I won't have any more problems.
.
So I do have a card to show you today. This card is a case from Danielle Daws a Demonstrator in Tassie and the co-founder of Just Add Ink. I loved this card so much I cased it almost exactly like Danielle's. The only difference is I made a rectangle card. The background is clear embossed and the daisy's highlighted on the white circle were stamped in VersaMark and Stampin' Pastel's were used to colour them with daubers. Simple but very stylish.

Recipe
Stamp Set: Upsy Daisy
Ink: VersaMark
Card: Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Tools: Circle Scissor Plus, Heat Tool
Accessories: Stampin' Pastels, daubers, clear embossing powder, buddy, Pretty in Pink ribbon

So I still haven't had much time to play with my new toys and I want to have a clean up in my craft room. Is it spring... I've done a lot of reorganizing lately.

Whale in Water.

Hi and happy Saturday, I can see a bit of blue sky today so hopefully we'll have a nice weekend. I can hear the lawn mowers starting up in the street already, everyone wanting to cut the grass before it starts raining again. I hope my hubby is out there too, our grass is getting very long.
.
I came across a card created by BROWYN HESLOP a Demonstrator in NZ that I thought was amazing, I just had to know how she did it. It was so good of her to send me the instructions. Yes that's real water in there and it doesn't leak. Browyn has had such overwhelming interest in her card that she has put the instruction on her blog Stamp with Me for all of us. (Thanks Browyn)
.
I kept my Whale card much the same as Browyn's, but I will be playing with this some more. The stamp set used is Animal Stories from the Summer Mini. Too cute!
