Best Thoughts Card

Hi, today's card is using a new hostess set called Best Thoughts and two of my favorite techniques. Heat Embossing and Water colouring.

You don't need to be an expert to get great results with water colouring this flower, it's super easy. But you do need to use Water Colour Paper.

Colours used are Watermelon Wonder, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Smoky Slate & Memento Black.

Isn't that new Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace Trim just beautiful!

The Newborn King.

This is one of my favorite stamp sets in the Holiday Catalogue, i have a few a favorites, but I really like the trees in this set.
I cased this card straight from the catalogue with just a couple of changes.
Gold embossed on watercolour paper.
A swish with the Aqua Painter is all it needs.

Tag Topper Punch Closure Card.

I have a seen  a few of these cards around on the Internet recently, so I had to make a couple. I think they are really clever, thank you to who ever came up with the idea.

The card base and the closure is the same piece of card. See Clever!

I have used the Sweet Sorbet DSP(no longer available) Chalk Talk Stamp set and the Perfect Pennants stamp set. The greetings where heat embossed with Pool Party embossing powder and a bit of ribbon and twine was added.

Only a couple of weeks left until the retirement list comes out and then a month after that the New Catalogue. So Excited!!!!

Sun Burst Card.

It's Friday already, this week is going really fast and having my little man home sick slows me down a bit. But I do love all the extra cuddles I get when his sick. So today's card is one I pulled out of the file, it's been sitting waiting for me to post and today is the day.
Another Sun Burst card using the new colour Crisp Cantaloupe with the Chalk Talk stamp set. The "For You" has been heat embossed with white embossing powder. Added a bit of Ruffled ribbon and Rhinestones to finish off. I might give this card to my Sister in-law, it's birthday today.

Have a great day.

Fab Friday 25.

I have discovered a new challenge blog (new to me) called Fab Friday. Every Friday there is a new challenge either a sketch challenge or a colour challenge. This week the Fab Friday 25 challenge is a sketch.
Using the Flowering Flourishes stamp set and the Merry & Type set. I heat embossed the flourish with Gold embossing powder, added a few Candy Dots and a bit of spritzing.
I've used one of the shapes of the Apothecary Accents Framelits dies to cut out a window, placing the greeting on the inside of the card.
To finish off the card I drew around the window with a gold pen and added  Seam Binding Ribbon.

19th Birthday Card.

Yes another male card. My oldest son turned 19 this week, all my kids have their birthdays really close together which makes for a busy couple of months and lots of cake. 19 is such a great age to be, lots of independence with not much responsibility. I tried to reflect in this card the passing of time while enjoying being 19 and to make the most of this time of his life.

Stamps set used in this card are Clockworks, Memorable Moments, Oh Goddie and Off the Grid. DSP Soho Subway. Colours used Basic Black, Island Indigo, Pool Party. Other products are Chalk Talk framelits, 1 1/4" circle punch, Gold embossing powder (watch), Pool Party embossing powder (grid), bakers twine, rhinestone and smooch spritz.

Have a great Friday Friends.

Secret Garden Easel Card.

I needed a very special card for a very special person, my sister, as I can't be with her to share her birthday this year. Using the beautiful Secret Garden stamp set and Frame Lit dies in an Easel Card made famous by the very talented  Bronwyn Easterly addINKtive designs. Thank you Bronwyn.

There is a lot going on with this card so I won't list it all, but the Strawberry Slush flowers were heat embossed with white embossing powder then coloured with a dauber. I love how this looks.

Wish you all a fabulous day.

Party Invitation.

My little man  turned 6 this week and of course we had to have a party with his little friends from school. This is the invitation I made using the Chalkboard technique that i love so much at the moment.
The first invitation I made using colours Coastal Cabana and Burnt Brown Sugar then my little man informed me that he wanted a Spider man cake so the colour theme of the party had to quickly change to Real Red. I'm really happy how these turned out and when a 6 year old party guest told me that he really liked my invitation, I felt really flattered. After all it's really hard to impress a 6 year old.
Stamps used are Sketched Birthday and Gorgeous Grunge. Other products used Chevron Embossing Folder, Apothecary Accents Frame Lits dies, White embossing powder and Bakers Twine.

Check back soon to see the Party Bags I made, the kids and Mums loved them.

Sunny Challenges & Creations.

Good morning, yesterday I discovered Sunny Challenges & Creations, a fun new challenge blog started by 3 lovely ladies in Queensland. Every Sunday they set a challenge with a sketch and with a fun technique to try.   This weeks challenge with the sketch is the Emboss Resist technique. The challenge is open to anyone and everyone so why not play along too. Click here to see the designs teams creations and details about the challenge.

As I needed a card for a friends birthday so I thought I play along. I have changed the sketch just a bit, hope that's ok.
I have used the Parlor Prints background stamp, heat embossed with a mixture of clear embossing powder and dazzling diamonds. it's a bit hard to see the sparkle in this photo but it looks great. Then using a dauber I inked over the card base with Cherry Cobbler ink gradually getting darker as I went along. I loved how this turned out. The other stamp set used is Friends Never Fade. For the stemmed flower I inked with Cherry Cobbler Stampin Write Marker then stamped off on scrap paper then inked only part of the stamp with the marker again creating the two tone look. The other flower has been cut out and raised with dimensionals with a bit of dazzling diamonds. To finish off I added Victoria crochet Trim with antique brad.

Sunday Scrap

Hi and happy Sunday. Don't you just love Sunday's, I love lazying around Sunday mornings. Again this week I didn't get much scrapping time (none) but I found this 8x8 Scrap page in my photo folder just waiting to be posted. The photo is of Zach when he was 7 months old just starting to sit up by himself.
The stamp set used is Baroque Motifs, such a beautiful stamp set. I have made my own metal embellishments by building up layers of silver embossing powder then while still hot pressed the stamp into the melted powder. The punched eyelet border strip has been put through the crimper for a ruffled look. The colours are Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla.

Here is a close up of the fake metal embellishments.

Have a wonderful day.
