Recipe Scrap Page

My sister had a great idea to make a recipe album for our niece's 16th birthday. My niece loves scrapbooking and cooking, so why not combine the two. All the cousins, Aunts, Great Aunts, Nana, her Mother and even her Uncles made a page or two. And the family favourite recipe album was born. We had so much fun putting it all together. With so many people involved I'm still amazed it stayed a surprise.

This is one of the pages I made. No stamping in this one. I've used the Simply Scrappin' kit Secret Garden. Love it! Just added a couple of vintage brads and a bit of Groovy Guava ribbon and used the slit punch.

She really loved the Album and wished she could have helped us make it. But then it wouldn't have been a surprise!

Thank you.

A very BIG thank you to everyone who attended the BIGGEST morning tea today. And thank you to the lovely girls who organised it all. It was a great success, $600.00 was raised for The Cancer Council. Well done! It was great to meet some new people and catch up with others. It was a lot of fun.
These are a couple of the thank you cards that I made to give to everyone when they arrived. I though the Priceless Stamp Set was very fitting for this event. Inside the card was stamped the words "heartfelt thanks" from the Heartfelt Thanks stamp set.

Come and say hi.

Watercolouring

We did a bit of watercolouring on the weekend using the Fun and Fast Notes set and the 6x6 pad of Designer Series Paper. This set is great, it has a stamp for every occasion. I'm not the best at water colouring but I'm getting better every time I have a go. And I do love to colour. So if your not happy with your first attempt, don't give up, keep trying you will get better.

On this card I used the Watercolour Wonder Crayons, inked around all edges and just tore the edges of the Rose Red DSP. I've pierced along the strip of card and added two vintage brads and a bit of ribbon.

This one I've used the watercolour pencils, and just used strips of So Saffron DSP. This guy is so cute.

With the Christmas Tree I used the Stampin' Pastels, Certainly Celery DSP and added Crystal Effects to the star and red baubles.

For the Birthday Cake I've used the Stamp & Write Markers, the Almost Amethyst DSP, inked around the edges, used the split punch , add two silver brads, a bit of ribbon and don't forget the glitter.

Basic Recipe

Stamps : Fun & Fast Notes
Card : Confetti Cream, Confetti White, Watercolour paper
Ink : StazOn Jet Black
Accessories : aqua painter, daubers, 2 way glue pen

Tip: If you don't have the right colour ribbon just colour plain white ribbon with a dauber and ink straight from the ink pad of your choice.

Thanks to the girls at Sundays workshop, we had lots of fun and a really yummy afternoon tea. I got to cuddle a gorgeous 7 week old baby boy. To think my baby was once that little.

Palette o'prints!

Time is running out, fast! If you haven't ordered your 6 x 6 pad of Prints Designer Series paper yet you may miss out. This promotion has been so popular that stocks are running very low. Stampin' Up! estimate they will run out completely by Wednesday. This promotion is a one time only offer so once they run out, that's it, no more. If you don't want to miss out place your order now!

I made these cards using the So Saffron Prints Designer Series Paper and the Oh, so lovely Level 1 Hostess set. There is no tricky technique, I just inked around the edgers with daubers. I've been doing this a lot lately, I love the softness it gives the card.

Recipe

Stamps : Oh, so Lovely , Warm Words, Everyday Flexible Phrases
Ink : Basic Brown, So Saffron, Regal Rose, Always Artichoke
Paper : Confetti Cream, Close to Cocoa
Punches : Small and Large oval punch, horizontal slot, corner rounder
Accessories : DSP 6 x 6 pad, blender pen, 5/8" grosgrain ribbon choc chip, cutter kit

Have a great weekend!

Crawling

Yes, my baby boy is now crawling. It's so exciting. He is so funny to watch, he huffs and puffs because it's very hard work and he thinks he is so clever. I've had to rearrange my craft room this week, he kept getting into everything. He pulled all the books out, emptied the rubbish bin, he can open draws, he even had a taste of the kittens food and liked it. I might have to get him a stack hat, he likes to crawl under my desk and into spaces he can't fit. All fun and games. He'll keep me on my toes now.

Boho for Boys

With so many girls in my family it was good to make a male card for a change. With just a strip of Designer Series Paper - Outlaw, and the scallop circle punch and a couple of brads, too easy! I've inked the edges and did a bit of paper piecing to finish it off. I quite like it.

Recipe
Stamps: Boho Backgrounds, Sincere Salutations
Ink: Choc Chip, Mellow Moss
Card: Choc Chip, Mellow Moss, Very Vanilla
Punches: scallop circle punch, 3.5cm & 2.5cm circle punch
Accessories: Sliver brads, Crafters tool kit, stamp-a-ma-jig, Designer Series Paper Outlaw

Boho Backgrounds is my new favourite set, I love it. You've properly noticed that I use punches a lot. The Stampin' Up! punches are made by EK Success and are the best. I have a large collection of punches from different company's and the Stampin' Up! punches are the best. I can punch through card easily without straining my hand and wrist. Love em!

Stipple Rose

I received a box of goodies in the mail yesterday, I was so excited because my new toy arrived. The crop-a-dile. I told my hubby he is not allowed to touch it, I think I'll still hide it from him.

I also had a lovely day stamping with a couple of good friends, we only made about six cards, (we love to chat) and it was great fun. This is one of the cards we made using the Stipple Rose stamp. It's so beautiful. I highlighted some areas with the aqua pen, so easy and inked around the edges with a dauber. I think it turned out ok. Don't you?

Recipe

Stamp Sets: Stipple Rose & Sincere Salutation
Ink: Basic Brown, Pretty in Pink, Always Artichoke
Card: Confetti Cream, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Designer Series Paper Spring Flowers, Aqua pen, sponge daubers, corner rounder punch. The ribbon i used is retired, sorry.

Bugs & Kisses

I made this card for one of my niece's for her birthday. I have quite a lot of niece's so you'll be seeing a lot of girly cards coming up. The youngest is 7 years old and the oldest is 18 so they will all be completely different. I've used the Petals & Paisleys Designer Series Paper as a quick background and added googly eyes to the dragonfly because i love using googly eyes, there so fun.

Recipe

Stamps: Bugs & Kisses
Ink: Tempting Turquoise
Card: Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: Scallop circle punch, 3.5cm circle punch, grosgrain ribbon tempting turquoise, Designer Series Paper Petals & Paisleys.

My niece loved the card almost as much as her pressy, which was a bag full of Stampin' Up! goodies. I can't wait to see some of her creations.

Bashful Blue & Real Red

Never in a million years would I have thought to put Bashful Blue and Real Red together, but when I saw Sandy Downey's gorgeous cards in Australian Paper Crafts Magazine, issue 76 2008, I just had to try these colours together. Don't they look great! Thanks for the great idea Sandy. While you have the magazine open have a look at Yvonne Campbell's "By any other Name" and Carol Dunstan's "A french affair" both Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.

Instead of using patterned paper as Sandy did, I stamped Whisper White card with the lovely flower image in Real Red and sponged lightly with Bashful Blue. And I used the Spring Solitude Hostess Set. I Really like the bird sitting on the branch.

Recipe

Stamp Set : Spring Solitude Level 2 Hostess
Ink: Real Red, Bashful Blue & Basic Black
Card : Whisper White & Bashful Blue
Accessories : Red grosgrain ribbon, word window punch, sponge, dimensionals, snail & paper snips

Maybe this will inspire you to try something a bit different, as Sandy inspired me.

Happy Mothers Day

I love Mother's Day, it's the best time to give a hand made card. Besides Christmas. All mothers no matter what age love to receive something hand made by their children. To see the excitement in their eyes is just wonderful. My son was jumping up and down and couldn't wait for me to open my card and gift. At least he waited until the sun came up before he woke me. Aren't they precious.

This card below was another really fast card to make. I've used the Simply Scrappin' Kit - Secret Garden. It's so gorgeous. The slit punch to make the lovely scalloped edge and I rounded the bottom corners with the corner rounder punch. So easy. I really love these new "In Colours" this year.

Recipe

Stamp Set - Sincere Salutations
Ink - Always Artichoke
Card - River Rock textured
Accessories - Simply Scrappin' Kit Secret Garden, Slit punch, Corner Rounder punch brad vintage, grosgrain ribbon Always Artichoke and dimensionals.

I hope all you Mum's out there had a fantastic Mother's Day and got totally spoilt by your children, like i did.
