Welcome Tereesa.

I would like to give a great big warm welcome to Tereesa who has joined my team and the Stampin' Up! family. Tereesa has been a friend for many years so I'm very excited that she is now a demonstrator. She attended the Launch Party a few weeks ago (her very first Stampin' Up! event) and was hooked. As we all are. :) I know we are going to have lots and lots of fun.

Here is the card I made for Tereesa using the Live your Dream stamp set with the new DSP Raspberry Tart.

Two sleeps to go.

Hi Crafters, hasn't this month just flown by. It's time to announce the winner of challenge # 7 already. First I want to thank everyone for entering, your all amazing. The winner is Leanne.
Yeh... Congratulations.

Leanne has made this very cute pyramid card and it's her first time of entering my challenge. Well done Leanne.

And here are all the other entries.

Natasha has made this gorgeous treat jar full of Easter chocolates she helped her daughter make. What a great Easter gift. See more of Natasha's creations here.

Tracy made this really fun Easter layout, it looks like Emily is enjoying all those Easter eggs.
See more of Tracy's creations here.

And Chook made this very sweet baby card. You can just see the dry embossing border around the edge. See more of Chook's creations here.

Kissing with Wheels

This week has just flown by. I don't know where the time goes. But I have got quite a lot done this week. I have started my swap cards for convention. Yeh! Only a few days to go. So I'll make this post quick so I can get back to work on the swaps.
Only one more day to get your entries in for my monthly challenge #7.
This is an 8x8 scrap page using the gorgeous new wheel Friendly Words. I've first inked the bird image with Baja Breeze ink them inked the wheel with Not Quite Navy ink and rolled the wheel over the bird image. I love how this turned out and the girls at Christine's workshop had a lot of fun kissing and rolling. (hi to you all)

A close up for you.

Bye for now :)

Leah's Monthly Challenge #7

Don't forget only 6 days left to enter my Monthly Challenge # 7. I have already received some beautiful creations. Everyone is welcome to enter so why not have a go. Just click on the pic over on the side bar to get the details and get stampin'.

Friendly Words Wheel

Here's a card using the Friendly Words Wheel. The wheels are so easy to use. For this card I've just wheeled across the bottom of the confetti white card, put a scallop edge band across the middle with DSP Prints Choc Chip. Added a bit of taffeta ribbon with a button. (Love the new buttons) The image is from Pocket Silhouettes punched out with my new punch, wide oval. And I've used the 1/2" circle punch to make the scallop edge around the oval.

This card is on it's way to someone special. I hope she likes it!
Yey!!!! Kids back at school yesterday. I have more time for playing. One big boy is home with the flu but he's no trouble.
Have a great day.

Mel's Challenge #15

Mel's challenge this time is to make a card using the faux stitching technique. I've used it as a border around the main image. And isn't this kangaroo cute, I know I'm going to be using this new set Build a Roo a lot. To save a bit of time I stamped Kanga in choc chip ink straight onto creamy caramel card. Now I don't need to colour her.
Recipe
Stamp Set: Build a Roo
Ink: choc chip, riding hood red, kiwi kiss
Stampin Write Marker: choc chip
Card: kiwi kiss, riding hood red, creamy caramel, choc chip
Punches: photo corners
Accessories: blender pen, stamp a ma jig, piercing mat & tool, choc chip grosgrain ribbon
It was the last day of school holidays today so we went to the movies to see Race to Witch Mountain. I really enjoyed it and so did all my kids. Sometimes it's hard to find a movie that a 14 year old, 11 year old and a 7 year old all like. This one was a winner.
Happy Stampin'

So..... did you guess right? The card I made is the pink "so kind" card. The technique is Emboss Resist. This technique is so much fun and you never really know what it will look like until your finished. The stamp set is Priceless with the So Swirly wheel. You can see I've used the scallop edge punch and a bit of piercing.

Here's a close up of the embossing.
Have a great weekend.

Friday, April 17

I participated again in Mel's swap last month. We had to use our favorite stamping technique. It was very hard for me to pick a technique because I love everything about stamping. Here are the swap cards I received useing lots of different techniques. Well done girls, there all amazing.
Can you guess which one is mine.......
Check back tomorrow to find out.

Hi, here's a card my daughter made for her teacher for her birthday. She loves the Good Friends stamp set as much as I do. The bird is so cute.

Hope your enjoying the school holidays.

Splish Splash

I came across a great scrap booking site last night, Tanja Westwood Compulsive Scrapbooker. Tanja has a monthly scrap booking challenge and this month it's a sketch challenge. So I couldn't resist having a go with the photo's from Southbank. Even though I have a hundred other things I should have been doing.......grin
The new In Colours Kiwi Kiss & Pacific Point match so well with Zach's swim shirt and the DSP Good Morning Sunshine was perfect for this water theme page. I had a lot of fun making this page and I'm really happy how it turned out.
You can check out Tanja's creations at Compulsive Scrapbooker here.
There's the sketch above. The photo's not real good, the lighting's not right so the colours aren't showing up as well as in real life.
I've used crystal effects on the dots for a water texture. Looks cool. I got this idea from my amazing sister.

Recipe
Stamp Sets: Ocean Commotion, Jumbo Outline Alphabet, Simple Serif Alphabet & Numbers, Live your Dream (dottie lines for journaling)
Ink: basic black, pacific point
Marker: basic black
Card: sarha sand, whisper white, kiwi kiss, pacific point
DSP: Good Morning Sunshine
Punches: slit
Accessories: hodge podge, brads, paper snips, clear embossing powder, buddy, heat tool, crystal effects, dimensionals

It's school holidays here this week so we had a lazy day today and tomorrow were meeting friends for pizza in the park. It's looking like the rain is going away so hopefully we won't get wet.

Just Chatting.

Hi all, I hope your having a great Easter break. We've had lots of rain which is great for lazy around, watching movies and eating chocolate.... :) On Friday we went to South bank Park Lands in Brisbane city. The rain held off for a couple of hours for us, we even saw a bit of sun. The kids had so much fun in the new water play area. If your ever in Brisbane you must go there, it's fantastic and has something for everyone. Sunday after indulging in chocolate for breaky we had an egg hunt (always fun) Zach didn't quite understand what was going on but as long as he got more choc eggs to eat he was happy. Then off to a bbq at a friends house. (with more chocolate eggs.) It was so good to catch up. Today there all just lazing around. So I have some time to play with my stamps.
It's not long till the Stampin' Up! convention now. I'm so excited, I can't wait. It's in Canberra this year and will be my first time there. So I thought a better put up a photo of me so you know what I look like. It's not a great photo but it's the best I've got at the moment. Hoping to get some goods one's at convention. So if you see me at convention make sure you come and say hi. I'm really looking forward to meeting in person all my cyber friends. And catching up with friends I made at last year's convention.

Ok here are a couple of my favorite pics from South bank. I'll have to get stuck into some scrap booking I think.

Nerine's Tuesday Layout Challenge

I love this little cup from the It's a loop Thing stamp set and just had to use it for Nerine's Tuesday Layout.
It's a level 3 Hostess bundle (Hand Drawn Bundle), which includes 4 stamps (double mounted), 2 sheets of rub-on's and 9 sheets of gorgeous Designer Series Paper. I really like Nerine's layout, it can work well how it is or you can dress it up a bit. For my card, I dressed it up a bit.

Recipe
Stamp Sets: It's a Loop Thing, Short & Sweet
Ink: basic black, old olive, close to cocoa
Card: whisper white, old olive
DSP: Hand Drawn
Punches: scallop circle, 1 3/8" & 1/2" circle
Accessories: blender pen, stamp a ma jig, 5/8" grosgrain ribbon old olive, piercing mat & tool, dimensionals

K Werner Colour Inspiration #49

Kristina has picked bright bold colours for her colour inspiration #49 this week. My card, again, has turned out very different from what I had in mind. But I think it looks quite fun. The only stamp I've used is from the Outlined for fun stamp set with a few punches and some doodle dots and a free hand drawn border.
Recipe
Stamp Set: Outlined for fun
Ink: Stazon Black
Marker: basic black
Card: kiwi kiss, pacific point, rose red, whisper white, basic black
Punches: 5 petal flower, 1/4" 1/2" 3/4" circles

KWerner Colour Inspiration # 48

When I saw the colours in Kristina's challenge this week I knew they were perfect for a male card. And since I missed my brother in-laws birthday last week I thought I better make a card for him. I went straight to the Cheers to You stamp set because he does love a beer. This set is great for male cards.

Recipe
Stamp Sets: Cheers to you, Sanded background
Ink: choc chip, kiwi kiss, baja breeze
Card: whisper white, baja breeze, kiwi kiss, choc chip
DSP: Good Morning Sunshine
Punches: round tab, 13/8" circle, scallop circle, small square (retired)
Accessories: blender pen, vintage brads, dazzling diamonds, piercing mat & tool

I've just missed the deadline for Kristina's challenge, but at least my brother in-law knows we are thinking of him.

Have a happy Wednesday.

Leah's Monthly Challenge #7

I'm a bit late with Challenge # 7, with all the excitement of the new catalogue. So here it is. I saw this gorgeous pic on Martha Stewart.com and just had to use it for this months challenge. ( So cute)
The colours are Pink Pirouette/Pretty in Pink, Baja Breeze/Bashful Blue, Barely Banana & Whisper White. You can also throw in Creamy Caramel if you like.
So use this pic to inspire your creation. A card, scrap page or something else. Does not have to be Easter related. If you don't have all these colours don't worry just use what you have.
Because I'm heading off to Convention at the end of the month, can all entries be in by Monday the 27th April 7.00pm Brisbane time. I know I'm not giving you as much time this month. Sorry!
When you have made your creation just leave a comment on this post with the link to where it is or email it to me. Too easy.

Ok, here is my sample card using the new Good Friend stamp set. I love this birdie. I used the Defining Alphabet set for "Easter" and the Short & Sweet set for "wishes". Also used the scallop edge punch and both oval punches. And some Chunky Sprinkles on his wing.

For my little egg basket I used the Family Fabourites stamp set. I used the football for the eggs. The handle is made using the scallop edge punch with silver brads to hold it in place. Rebecca thinks it's way too small to use for an Easter Egg Hunt and wants me to make her a much bigger one, to fit in lots and lots of Easter eggs. :)

So I hope you have fun with it and come up with something amazing.

Launch Party

We had such a great time at the Launch Party on Saturday. Checking out the new catalogue, playing with some of the new stamp sets and colours. Making new friends and catching up with old friends. And talking, talking and more talking with lots of laughter. I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

A big thank you to everyone who could come, I really hope you enjoyed the afternoon as much as I did.

So here is the card we made using the Good Friend stamp set in bright bold colours, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango and Summer Sun.

And these cute tags using the Cheers to You stamp set. ( I can't wait to get the wheel that coordinates with this set) Using the new colours Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette and Baja Blue.

These look so cute with a bit of dazzling diamonds.

Ok, I've got a few thing to catch up on so I'll be posting Leah's Monthly Challenge #7 in a couple of day so check back for that.

Mel's Weekly Challenge # 14

Wow what a fantastic time we had at the New Catalogue Launch Party on Saturday. I have lots to show you but you'll have to wait until tomorrow.... ;)
I wanted to get in early for Mel's Challenge, this week we have to case/copy our favorite card from the new catalogue. This one was easy. I love the Fifth Avenue Floral card on the front cover. Now I don't have this set yet..... it's on the way, so I used the Embrace Life stamp set. I think it works quite well. This card was sooo easy, it only took five minutes to make and I love the simplicity of it.

Recipe
Stamp Sets : Embrace Life, Sincere Salutations
Ink : Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Choc Chip
Card : Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Choc Chip
Accessories: 5/8" grosgrain ribbon choc chip, piercing mat & tool

Until tomorrow.......

So Kind

Wow this week has just flown by. It's the weekend already. And tomorrow is my first new catalogue launch party. I can't wait to show everyone all the fantastic products. The new In Colours are delish.
But for now I'll show you a card I made for Mel's Swap group. This month we had to make a card using our favorite technique. That was the hard part, I love pretty much every stamping technique. So I went with Emboss Resist. This is a really fun technique and one that you don't really know how it's going to look until the end. I was really happy how this one turned out. I used the Priceless stamp set and the So Swirly wheel, the scallop edge punch, the piercing mat and tool and a brayer. All my favorites.

It's hard to see the embossing in the photo, but it looks amazing in real life.

I really enjoyed this swap and I'm loving the cards I've received so far. (Thanks ladies.) I'll get them posted up here to show you as soon as I receive them all.
Bye for now.
