Here is the back view, she even glittered his tail. It was full of yummy Christmas Chocolates but I ate some before I tool the photo's. :)

Playing with lace.

I have two cards to show you today, both Christmas cards of course.
When I saw the beautiful Crochet Trim in the Summer Mini Catalogue I remembered that I have a whole box of lace just sitting in the cupboard that my Mum gave me a long time ago. So why not use it.

The first card I hand stitched the lace to form a flower, finished it of with a button and some ribbon.. The stamp set is Season of Joy, the embossing folder is Vintage Wallpaper. A bit of sponging and spritzing with the new Smooch Spritz and added a few pearls. Colours are Garden Green, Soft Suede, Riding Hood Red and Very Vanilla.

The next card I used the lace as a decorative strip across the bottom of the card. This lace looks so old that it may have been my Grandmothers. Stamp set used is Dasher, the embossing folder is Vintage Wallpaper again. With more sponging and spritzing. Added pearls and ribbon. The colours are Riding Hood Red, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.
I think this is about as close as I can get to vintage. :)

Thanks for stopping by today.

Dazzling Joy

Hi, today's card, another Christmas Card,  is quite dazzling, Using the Welcome Christmas set. I have inked the stamp with Stampin' Write Markers then stamped. After making sure the ink is dry I covered the whole piece with VersaMark then Heat & Stick powder and heated with a heat gun. While still hot I sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds and heated again to set. Very dazzling! The rest of the card is quite basic using the Joy stamp from the Perfect Punches set for the greeting. Did you notice, no ribbon! It's amazing for me not to use ribbon, but this card just didn't need any.

Recipe
Stamp Set: Welcome Christmas
Card: Old Olive, Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla
Markers: Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Early Espresso
Ink: VersaMark
Punches: scallop circle, 1 3/8" circle

Christmas Joy.

Hi, I have a Christmas card to show you today. I made this card with my Mum in mind, to give her ideas with using the 2 Step Bird in a Christmas card. I've used  the bird punch  as a Christmas dove, I have lightly inked around him with Tea Stain Ink from the Distressing Essentials Kit. Also used the Welcome Christmas stamp set and the En Francais background stamp. The garden Green ink looks great on the Pear Pizazz card.

Card: Riding Hood Red, Garden Green, Pear Pizazz, Whisper White
Ink: Garden Green, Riding Hood Red, Tea Stain-Distressing Essentials

Christmas Class at Julie's.

Hi, on Friday night I went to a Christmas Class at Julie's, it was really good to be the student for a change instead of the teacher. I had a really great time with the other ladies and Julie had prepared amazing projects for us to make.

First we made this gorgeous Christmas card. I went a bit crazy with the gold Smooch Spritz ( a new product in the Summer Mini)

Next we made these very cute pillow box gift boxes using the rock & roll technique.

Then we did a bit of heat embossing on this lovely Dasher card again I went a bit overboard with the silver Smooch Spritz.  Doesn't the silver look fantastic on the Concord Crush card.

Julie gave us this lovely Christmas box with a stamp inside, (a Christmas present for us) made with the Fancy Favor Big Shot die. And then we got to make ourselves.

And that's not all, Julie also gave us this bag of punched out goodies with buttons & brads inside. She certainly spoilt us.
Thank you Julie for a fantastic night of stamping.

New Look & Awards.

Hi, so don't you just love my blogs new Christmas look!  I spent quite a few hours last night getting it right. With less than a month until Christmas it will help us get into the Christmas spirit. We are putting our new big tree up on Wednesday, our little one is looking a bit sad., It doesn't really feel like Christmas until the tree is up. I have also added a few new links on the side bar so if you haven't had a look there for a while go and check it out.

I have been very fortunate to receive 2 blog awards recently.
This first one is the " I got the Attitude Blog Award" given to me by a lovely friend and very talented paper crafter Tracey, check out her blog Trace-Elementz  here. Thanks so much Tracey.
Receiving this award means I have to tell you three things that make me "me" and pass it along. This is quite hard.
 1. I am an easy going, caring person.
 2. I am very patient person.
 3. And I would not be me without my 4 fantastic kids. If I didn't have them  I would be ... someone else.
Now I would like to pass this award onto a few blogs that I think have Attitude and really cute cards.

Click on the link to visit these blogs.

This next Award is the Best Blog Friends Forever Award, given to me by my BBFF Sonia. Check out Sonia's blog here. Thank you Sonia, this is a really cool award.

Now I need to pass this on and this is very, very hard because I have made some wonderful friends in blog land who I think will be friends forever. I would like to pass it back to Sonia, but I don't think that's allowed.

Click on the link to visit these blogs.

That's it from me today but make sure you check back on Wednesday 1st December for the new Summer Mini catalogue and a new Stampin' Up! promotion. Exciting!

Sunday Scrap - Big Blow.

Hi, Happy Sunday. For today's Scrap Page I've used this weeks sketch challenge #214 from Pencil Lines. I just discovered Pencil Lines the international sketch challenge blog this week. With designers from all over the world I'm sure to get plenty of inspiration. This weeks sketch was designed by the super talented Laura Vegas. This sketch was great for me as I struggle a bit with multiple photos.

And here is my page. Zach again, the camera just loves him, having a bubble bath.

I've used Vellum circles to represent the bubbles and the Extreme Elements stamp set in the background. The Vellum bubbles are really good for covering up .... things. You know what I mean!

Stamp Sets: Defining Alphabet, Extreme Elements, Dotted Lines Wheel
Card: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Vellum
DSP: Elegant Soiree

Just back...

...from a long weekend away. Christine, Marcelle, Carly & I went up the coast for a card making weekend. It was so much fun, we laughed, talked & talked, ate way too much junk food ( starting diet today) and we even made a few cards. We each made about 50 cards. Woo Hoo! I was amazed at the amount, it does help when you have a plan. I will show you my cards in upcoming posts. But for today I have a couple of photo's of our room, we pushed all the furniture back against the wall and set up our tables in the middle.

Here are the tables all set up and ready to begin, they didn't stay tidy for very long.

The weather was a bit wet but that didn't worry us. I have to show you the best All Day Big Breaky I have ever seen. We stopped at a little petrol station restaurant on the way up and Christine got all this for just $11 and that plate was huge. She did a great job of getting through most of it.

So a big thank you to Christine for inviting me, being my chauffeur, bringing an extra table for me and for not singing that Christmas song again. :) Thank you Marcelle for your great ideas & inspiration & cooking us a very yummy almost healthy dinner. Thank you Carly for you Black Eyed Peas CD ( bad radio & TV reception up there), for entertaining us with your face book quotes and for putting up with us oldies.

Sunday Scrap

Hi and happy Sunday. Don't you just love Sunday's, I love lazying around Sunday mornings. Again this week I didn't get much scrapping time (none) but I found this 8x8 Scrap page in my photo folder just waiting to be posted. The photo is of Zach when he was 7 months old just starting to sit up by himself.
The stamp set used is Baroque Motifs, such a beautiful stamp set. I have made my own metal embellishments by building up layers of silver embossing powder then while still hot pressed the stamp into the melted powder. The punched eyelet border strip has been put through the crimper for a ruffled look. The colours are Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla.

Here is a close up of the fake metal embellishments.

Have a wonderful day.

Passion 4 Paper Swaps

Hi, today I have the swap cards from our recent Passion 4 Paper team meeting to show you. The theme of the swap was to use scraps with a new stamp set from the new catalogue. This was harder for some of us than others (me) but everyone has done a fantastic job.
This first card was made by Angie using the Morning Cup stamp set, using up left over punched shapes.
Christine used the level 1 hostess set Because I Care, using left over strips of card for the background.

Julie made this cute little pillow box using up scraps of DSP and ribbon. With the greeting from the Perfect Punches stamp set.

Teressa made this peek a boo owl card with the Woodgrain background stamp using scraps of card to make the owl.

Here is a close up of the owl.And for my swap I made a Christmas card using the scrap bits of card that I had punched the ornaments out of, used as a template and spritzed over. Stamp set is Contempo Christmas.

So we hope this gives you some ideas with using your scraps and left over bits.
Have a great day.
