Best Thoughts Card

Hi, today's card is using a new hostess set called Best Thoughts and two of my favorite techniques. Heat Embossing and Water colouring.

You don't need to be an expert to get great results with water colouring this flower, it's super easy. But you do need to use Water Colour Paper.

Colours used are Watermelon Wonder, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Smoky Slate & Memento Black.

Isn't that new Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace Trim just beautiful!

Block background.

Hi, today I have a card I made recently to show you. This card came about by my Mum having a line stamp that she was tired of colouring all the time and wanted another way of using it. I showed her that by stamping blocks of a light colour on the background then stamping in a darker colour over the top that she could create a stunning card using the same stamp. And it's quick too. On this card I've used the Stampin' Up! Clear Mount Blocks C & D, just put the ink directly onto the block then stamp. I really like this effect as it turns out a bit different every time. The stamp set used is Nature Walk and the colours used are Baja Breeze and Early Espresso.

Thanks for visiting today.

Launch Party.

We had a great time playing with some of the new Stampin' Up! products at the Launch Party on Saturday. It was really good to catch up with some people I hadn't seen for a while. Thank you ladies for coming along and making the afternoon really fun.

This first card we made using the Delicate Doilies stamp set in the new In colours, Calypso Coral, Island Indigo and Pool Party. We used the Lace Ribbon Border Punch and the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die with a few Rhinestone jewels for a bit of bling.

This next card is using the Forever Young stamp set and the Parlor Prints background stamp on the new In Colour Wisteria Wonder and last years in Colour Concord Crush. With the Top Note Bigz die and the Decorative label punch.

This one is the same card stamped in Island Indigo with the Parlor Prints background clear heat embossed. Hard to see in this photo, but this background stamp is beautiful  embossed.
So that's all from me today, thanks for visiting.

Inkspiration Colour Challenge #44

Oops, I just realized I have used the wrong pink for Makeesha colour challenge. The colours are supposed to be Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Whisper White and Pretty in Pink. I have used Regal Rose instead of Pretty in Pink. Hope this will be ok.

I have heat embossed the Woodgrain background stamp with white embossing powder and clear embossed the beautiful butterfly's. I really like how this turned out. The Marina Mist panel is dry embossed with the Elegant Lines embossing folder. Then a white scallop edge, a bit of piercing , some ribbon and of course rhinestones. I've been using the new rhinestone Jewels on everything lately.

Thanks for a great colour challenge Makeesha, even if I did get it a little bit wrong.

Sunday Scrap.

Hi, It Sunday again and the good thing about this Sunday is that the kids go back to school tomorrow. Yeh! Just kidding, I do love having extra time to spend with them and I really love sleeping in.
Today's page is the one we made at Amanda's last weekend. Showing off lots of the new punches. As you know I am a punch addict and I almost always use at least one punch in every project. We used 5 punches on this 8 x 8 page and we had lots of fun playing with them all, especially the 2 step owl punch. He is just adorable. We also used the Greenhouse Gala DSP, the Little Leaves Sizzlits die and the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder on the flower center. The title is using the Wonderful Favorites stamp set.
The photo is of Zach and his wonderful friend Nadia, taken in the Easter school holidays. We had a fantastic day at Kings Park and Nadia was testing out her new camera. I have lots of great photo's from that day which I hope to scrap one day soon.
Here is a close up of the Fancy Flower and 2 Step Owl Punch.

Flying Pop Up Butterfly's.

Hi, today's card is based on Brenda Quintana's Flying Pop Up card. My good friend and road trip buddy, Marcelle had it in her project folder and when I saw it I had to make one. The front of the card is looking through a window and when you open it.......

...the butterfly's pop up and fly. I love it. I have used the new Greenhouse Gala DSP which I also love, with the All a Flutter butterfly stamp, coloured with a blender pen. The flowers are hand cut from the DSP. The greetings are from the Wonderful Favorites and the new Perfect Punches stamp sets.

I gave this card to my Mother-In law for her birthday today.

Poppin Pastels.

Hi, hope you all had a great weekend. We went to my nieces soccer game, it was so good to get out in the sunshine and fresh air, they won 6-nil. I also got lots of stampin done, I've been playing with my new goodies. So much fun.
Today I'm going to show you a card we made at a workshop a while back, just found it in my photo file. It's using the Poppin' Pastels technique with the Always in Bloom wheel. We inked the wheel with VersaMark ink and wheeled it across the white card then using daubers added colour with the Stampin Pastels. This technique is really fun because you don't really know what it will look like until your finished. The greeting and beautiful butterfly are from the Great Friend stamp set, which is making a come back in the new Catalogue.
Recipe
Stamp Sets: Great Friends, Always in Bloom wheel
Card: Kraft, Cameo Coral, Whisper White
Ink: VersaMark, Cameo Coral, Summer Sun, Choc chip
Punch: corner rounder, photo corner
Accessories: Choc Chip ribbon, silver brads, daubers, Stampin' Pastels

Enjoy.
