Mel's Weekly Challenge #1

Mel's challenge this week is to make a Christmas card using non traditional colours. So I thought I'd challenge myself even more by using a non Christmas Stamp set. I call this card Aussie Bush Christmas, I really it. What can be more non traditional than Pumpkin Pie and Tempting Turquoise! The branch image looks a bit like a Gum Tree...Kinda!
Recipe
Stamp Sets: Embrace Life(coming soon), Family Favourites(balls), Short & Sweet
Ink: Choc Chip, Creamy Caramel, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise
Card: Very Vanilla, Choc Chip
Accessories: blender pen, buttons earth elements, grosgrain ribbon tempting turquoise, stamp a ma jig

That's all from me today, I'm doing Christmas Craft with my daughter's class at school next week so must get it all ready.

Thanks for looking.

K Werner Design Colour Inspiration #32

Kristina's challenge this week is a good one. I love this colour combination. Riding hood red/real red, sahara sand/metallic, very vanilla and whisper white. I've been wanting to made a circle card for a while and thought it fitted well with the challenge.

I've used DSP Dashing, red grosgrain ribbon, On Board lot of Letters inked with silver Encore ink, scallop circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch and the scallop edge punch. The silver cord is retired.

The silver Encore ink is really sparkly. Love it.

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge # 67

This is the sketch for Beate's WSC # 67. I like this sketch it could work well with any theme. I choose a Christmas theme and my favorite Spring Mini Stamp set Season of Joy, combined with DSP Holiday Harmony and the gorgeous satin ribbon Purely Pomegranate. Love it.

Here it is.

Hope your like it.

Exploding Box.

I saw this Exploding Box on Splitcost Stampers. I thought I'd make one for my Mum with photo's of the kids. Mine is a bit different the base is just like Mekeesha's love note box without the ribbon. It took me way longer to pick which photo's to use than to make the box. giggle It was quite easy and lots of fun to make. I used the DSP Holiday Harmony, the words "love you" are from the Outlined for Fun stamp set, coloured with Stampin Write Markers.

Mum was a bit scared to open it when I told her it was an exploding box, she thought something would jump out at her. And something did, photo's of her grandchildren. She loved it.

Just got back from seeing the new Bond movie with Alex. It was great very full on, I'm exhausted just from watching it.

Hope your enjoying your weekend.

K Werner Design Colour Inspiration # 31

UPDATE: Wow I am truly amazed that my card made it into Kristina's Round-Up, I wasn't happy with this card but didn't have time to redo it so entered it anyway. I quess Kristina liked something about it. And going by all the comments you all liked it to. Thanks you.
I had a lot of trouble with Kristina's challenge this week. I'm not sure why, maybe the colours! She sure loves Pumpkin Pie. The colours are Close to Cocoa, Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron and Whisper White.

I've used Eastern Elegance Rub-On , a large scallop circle from the Die Cut Blooms and a flower brad from Stylised Silver Hodgepodge Hardware. You can find all of these in the Spring Mini Catalogue.

Close up.

Dream

I love Meekesha's challenge this week. This bedding from Adair's looks sooo comfy.
The colours I used are Tempting Turquoise, Kraft, Whisper White and of course Choc Chip. And a little bit of Creamy Caramel. These colours look so good together.

The stamp set I used is Live your Dreams, I received it at field training a couple of months back and it will be available very soon. I used the Stampin Write Makers to colour the different parts of the flower image.
I could see that one of the cushions looks shimmery (well to me anyway) so I added some shim with the Stylized Silver Hodge Podge Hardware and Dazzling Diamonds on the butterfly. And the cute little bird was stamped with VersaMark.

Recipe
Stamp Set : Live your Dreams
Ink : VersaMark
Stampin Write Markers : Tempting Turquoise, Choc Chip, Creamy Caramel
Card : Kraft, Choc Chip, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Punches : 3/4" circle, slit
Accessories : Hodge Podge Hardware Stylized Silver, grosgrain ribbon Tempting Turquoise, taffeta ribbon Choc Chip, 2way glue pen, dazzling diamonds, dimensionals

You have probably seen the damage on tv from last nights storm, I was shocked! We were very lucky we just got the edge of it and just got a lot of heavy rain. I really feel for those who were affected and hope that tomorrows storm will blow out to sea.

Mel's Weekly Challenge

Hope your all enjoying the weekend. I'm having another lazy Sunday after a couple of busy days. We had kids Christmas craft yesterday with all my nieces and nephews, it's so much fun and has become a tradition in my family. We make decorations to be used on Christmas day. This time we made Christmas tree ornaments, decorated candles with stamps of course, for the dinning table. Each child made a card to go on their present from the family. And they painted Christmas window decorations. The kids just loved it.
Then we had my baby brother 30th Birthday party last night. His birthday is the day after mine. Wow it was a huge night with lots of singing and dancing and yes karaoke.

Must be quick there is a storm on the way.

Mel's Weekly Challenge is colours from this beautiful flower. Choc Chip, Green Galore, Lovely Lavender and Whisper White.
Here's what I came up with.

I've used the Stampin Write markers 3 ways. With the aqua pen to colour the flower petals. Directly onto the stamp, and I used the fine tip of the marker to make fake stitching around the green galore card. I've also used the Cherished Memories rub-ons, the white looks fantastic on the choc chip card and rubs onto ribbon easily.
I inked the chipboard letters with the classic White ink pad and then covered the whole letter with crystal effects to make it shine.

Recipe
Stamp Set: Scribble This
Ink : Classic White
Stampin Write Markers : Choc Chip, Lavender Lace, Green Galore
Card : Choc Chip, Green Galore, Lavender Lace, Whisper White
Accessories : rub-ons cherished memories, aqua pen, hodge podge hardware stylised silver, mat pack, on board lots of letters, crystal effects, dimensionals

The storm is about to hit, must go and close the windows.

Bye for now.

Happy Birthday To Me!

Today is my Birthday and I've been totally spoilt. I had a great lunch with some good friends who also spoilt me. (thanks girls) My kids took their dad shopping to get me a cake and pressie. Hmm, I was a bit worried about what they would bring back. But they did ok.

All in all I had a great day. With flowers, chocies, wine, cake, bed socks, (before hubbie took the kids shopping he was joking that they would get me socks & jocks, because that's what the kids always get him.lol) good friends and a loving family what more could a girl want......

It was a bit weird making a birthday card for myself, but I wanted to make one for my Monthly Challenge and the kids can write in it and give to me. I've used the Happiness background stamp with the Stampin Write Markers (you can get these singly during November.) The flower image is from True Friend, and the word happy is from Polka Dot & Paisley stamp set. For some bling I've added a pink rhinestone brad to the center of the jumbo eyelet. I think I covered everything in the challenge, flowers, stripes, dots, a big bow and the colours. I like it!

Recipe
Stamp Sets : Happiness- Background, Polka Dots & Paisley, True Friend
Stampin Write Markers - Choc Chip, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink
Card : Very Vanilla, Choc Chip, Rose Red, Regal Rose
Punches : scallop circle, 1" circle, slit
Accessories : 5/8" grosgrain ribbon Choc Chip, jumbo eyelet, rhinestone brad, crop a dile, stamp a ma jig, dimensionals

I'm off to watch Hero's with a box of chocies, what better way to end the day.

KWernerDesign Colour Inspiration #30

Kristina's Colour Inspiration #30 this weeks colours are Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Sahara Sand and Whisper White. These colours are fabulous together. I'll be using these again.

I've used a new stamp set that's not available yet (but coming real soon) I've been itching to use it and I thought it was perfect for this challenge. I also used a few different punches and the sliver buckle is Stylised Silver Hodgepodge Hardware with Old Olive and White grosgrain ribbon.

I'm off to make more Christmas Cards, it's coming up very fast.
Have a great day.

UPDATE : My card made it to Kristina's round-up, I'm so excited!
