Sneak Peak

Only one more sleep to go until the Stampin' Up! Spring Mini Catalogue is released. So exciting.
.
Here is a sneak peak of one of my favorite stamp sets in the Spring Mini Catalogue. I made this card for Zach for his 2nd birthday. He loves trains so much especially Henry from the Thomas the tank engine shows.

I think Ill get a lot of use out of this set with three boys who have all loved trains.

Guest Artist Leanne Durrington

My guest artist today is Leanne Durrington. Leanne is a good friend and a very creative card maker. She made this gorgeous Spinner card for Jamie for his birthday. Isn't she clever! The star not only slides along the card, it also spins. And I love how she used chunky glitter on some of the stars. Boy's love glitter too and Jamie was very impressed. Thank you Leanne.
Leanne does not have a blog but she enters my monthly challenge quite often so we'll be able to see more of her creative cards.

Speaking of challengers, only a couple of days left to get your challenge entries in. I can't wait to see what you come up with.
Have a great day.

Zach

Hi, hope your all having a great week. I've had a lot of things going on this week so this will be a quick post.
This is a 8x8 scrap page of my gorgeous baby. I've used my new toy again the crimper with the scallop edge punch. DSP Good Morning Sunshine, large oval punch, photo corner punch and paper piercing. The colours are baja breeze, pacific point and kiwi kiss. I love how these colours combine perfectly with Zach's swimmers. I've used a few different alphabet stamps and a chipboard "a" inked and covered with crystal effects, making the title, "Zach". I also used the Warm Words stamp set.

I'm off to sports day tomorrow, always lots of fun. Fingers crossed the weather is good.

Thanks for checking in.

Colour Inspiration #56

The colours Kristina's picked for her Colour Inspiration #56 are colours I haven't combined before, so it was a real challenge for me. I had come across a technique call Smackin' Acetate and thought it might work for Kristina's challenge. The Smackin' Acetate is the coloured background behind the red daisys. This is a really fun technique and I didn't even need any acetate. Here is the link to see how it's done.
I know I'll be playing with this technique again. Anyway I'm not sure about this card, the colours just aren't me.

Recipe
Stamps: Upsy Daisy, Polka Dot background, Happy Everything
Ink: ruby red
Markers: pumpkin pie, so saffron, certainly celery, brocade blue
Card: certainly celery, ruby red, whisper white
Accessories: red rhinestone brad, flower from the pretties kit,, 1" double striped ribbon, white gel pen, dimensionals

Have a great day.

A very big Congratulations and welcome to Julie Hansen a new Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. I'm so very excited to have Julie join the team. I have only known Julie for a short time but I love her already. I love her humor and the conversations we have, her values and honesty. Julie is a fantastic paper crafter her projects are amazing, I'm looking forward to seeing more of her work when her blog is up and running. (I'll keep you posted) I may even get her to enter my challenge. I can't show you her welcome card yet, the main reason being that I haven't made it yet :)
Anyway Julie, congrats and I wish you all the best as you embark on your stampin' journey.
Enjoy the ride.

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #10

Makessha has a great sketch challenge this week. I thought I'd join in. I've used the gorgeous bird from the Good friends stamp set with the Friendly Words wheel, wheeled over the top. The greeting is from Friends 24-7 stamp set. The circles are punched from DSP Patterns Pink Pirouette then I added a couple of half pearls and a felt flower and finish off with a bit of piercing.
If you would like to join in the fun or see the other entries click here.

Friends Scrap Page

It's Friday already, It's only a few more days until the kids go back to school. Yeh! Don't get me wrong, I do love having the extra time to spend with them and the sleeping in is wonderful, they just wanta eat all the time and it seems like a lot more house work needs to be done when their home. You know what I mean! Little Zach will miss them terribly when they go back.
So I finally got some computer time. Today I have a 8x8 scrap page to show you featuring the gorgeous Friends 24-7 stamp set, Friendly Words Wheel, the new eyelet boarder punch and die cut flowers Blooms Again. I wheeled the Friendly Words wheel over the die cut flower then scrunched it up and inked the edgers to give it a distressed look. I really like this effect. Then I used the eyelet border punch for the strip above the DSP and also to make a sweet corner for the bird image. We had a lot of fun making this at Lisa's.

Recipe
Stamp Sets: Friends 24-7, Friendly Words wheel
Ink: VersaMark, creamy caramel, not quite navy
Card: kraft, not quite navy, very vanilla
DSP: Bella Blue
Punches: eyelet boarder, oval, large oval
Accessories: die cut Blooms Again, silver brads, kraft taffeta ribbon

I better go and check on the kiddies and see what their getting into. It's very quite, too quite....
Thanks for checking in.

Update

I've just added my sample cards to the challenge #10 post. So just scroll down a little to have a look.
Enjoy.

Leah's Monthly Challenge #10

I had so much fun making the Dino invites I thought I would stay on that theme for the monthly challenge. The inspiration picture is a dona cover Jamie received for his birthday from his Aunty Karen. She is so good at picking linen and Jamie just loves it.

The colours are: Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White.
If you don't have these colours just use something similar. Use the pic as your inspiration for a card, scrap page or 3D item.
Then email me your creation to stampin.with.leah@live.com.au or leave a link in the comment section of this post to your creation.

All entries are due in by Friday 31st July 7.00pm. So you have plenty of time.

Here are my sample cards. This first one I've used Ocean Commotion and Cute and Curly stamp sets and I've used the crimper for the background. I love it, I've been crimping everything in sight.

This next card I've used the Crazy for Cupcakes set putting crystal effects on the flame and sprinkles. It's much like the cupcakes we had at Jamie's party :)

Have fun with it.

Dino Disco Party.

We had such a great time yesterday at Jamie's Dino Disco Party. Especially Jamie. I can't believe he's now 8 years old.
I have the invitation from Jamie's party to show you today. Isn't he cute. The colours are Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Baja Breeze and Pacific Point. These were lots of fun to make. The pattern for the Dino came out of a very old Paper Crafts magazine Sept 06. Doesn't everyone keep all their craft mags!
Happy Stampin'
