Christmas Harmony

Here's a card we made at Sunday's workshop. I cased this card design from Splitcoast Stampers. I have changed the colours and the Stamp Set. But I loved the basic design. You may have noticed I cut the card a bit different this time. I just cut an A4 sheet of card length wise and folded in half. Very swish! The first card (the one with pink) was made using the poppin pastels technique. So fun to do. And the Holiday Harmony DPS is soooo gorgeous.

I can't decide which one I like best. What do you think?

Recipe Stamp Set : Season of Joy
Ink : River Rock, Always Artichoke
Card : Whisper White, River Rock, Always Artichoke, Purely Pomegranate Punches : 1 3/8" & 1 1/4" circle Accessories: DSP Holiday Harmony, stamp a ma jig, Stampin' Pastels, daubers, dimensional, double stitched ribbon- River Rock/Purely Pomegranate, brads-gold/vintage

Sweet

Mel's come up with a great challenge for us this week. Polished Stone, I've used it as the background of my card. She has a great pictorial your can see here. It's a really fun technique, you should give it a try. Again I used off cuts of white gloss card and then worked around that. The pink ring on the choc scallop is stamped with Boho background stamp set. And I so love the little flower buckle.
I stamped the word "sweet" in the corner, because I gave the card to the lovely Amanda who turned sweet 16.

Recipe
Stamp Sets : Boho Backgrounds, Everyday Flexiable Phrases
Ink : Choc Chip, Pretty in Pink - ink refills
Card : White gloss, Pretty in Pink, Choc Chip, Whisper White
Punches : 1/2", 1", 1 1/4" circles, scallop circle
Accessories : Taffeta ribbon choc chip, Hodgepodge hardware-Styled Silver, dimensionals
Have a great weekend

Going Dotty

This is a fun and kinda funky Christmas card. I stamped the J O Y straight onto the big spots of the DSP Dashing. Then punched out with 1 1/4" square punch, then mattered on Real Red card with the 1 3/8" punch. I did have to use the Stampin' write markers with the Stamp a ma jig to do this. But it was easy. I used the markers again on the word Christmas, that way I didn't get the word Merry or the dots. I thought there was enough dots already. I mounted the J O Y on more dotty DSP, layered on Real Red card. Then just added some ribbon a few punched out small circles.

Recipe
Stamp Set : Season of Joy
Ink : Stampin' Write Markers- Basic Black, Old Olive
Card : Confetti Cream, Real Red
Punches : 1 3/8" & 1 1/4" square, 1/2" circle
Accessories : DSP Dashing, grosgrain ribbon Always Artichoke, Stamp a ma jig, dimensionals

Happy Stampin'

Mel's Accessory Challenge

This week Mel's challenge is to incorporate piercing and accessories. As it's was my Father In-laws birthday yesterday, ( with no card in sight) I decided to use his card in Mel's challenge. Does that make sense?

I've inked a piece of chipboard with River Rock, the colour changed a lot on the chipboard, then stamped "make a wish" in Blue Bayou, and clear embossed the whole piece three times. The background is the Baroque background stamp. I used the cutter kit to ruff up the River Rock card and inked the edgers with Always Artichoke.

The photo's not very good, it's raining here today. But belive me it does look really good.

Recipe
Stamp Sets : Baroque background, A Little Birthday Cheer
Ink : Blue Bayou, River Rock, Always Artichoke
Card : Whisper White, Blue Bayou, River Rock
Accessories : On Board Accents, clear emboss powder, double stitched ribbon River Rock, Piecing tool and mat, stamp a ma jig, cutter kit, vintage brads

I almost forgot to tell you, I won Mel's last challenge. Very excited!!! She's now holding her challenges weekly, so I will try my best to play along each week, no promises. You can check out her blog here.

Happy school holidays.

Swaps

I received this months swaps yesterday. So exciting, I've been checking the mail box for days. So grab a cuppa there are 14, it might take a while.

This swap we had to make an ATC size card using a metallic card stock with embossing. Quite a challenge. Now you may not see the embossing very well in these photos but it is there. Are you ready? Lets go!

This first one's mine .

Thank You!

I just want to give a BIG thank you to everyone who has been coming here to check out my blog lately, and from the beginning. And all those comments, amazing! I really do appreciate your feedback. It means a lot to me. So here is a special card to say thank you, just for you. I wish I could send one by snail mail to you all. This will have to suffice. I hope you like it. Thank You!

Always

Hi everyone, hope you all had a great weekend. The last few days have been a bit hectic for me so today I had a chill out day. I didn't stamp anything today, amazing!

This is a cute 6 x 6 page we made at Jo's workshop yesterday. (Thanks Jo) It features the Always stamp set, which I looove, from the Spring Mini Catalogue, with 3 of the In Colours. The heart is stamped randomly with VersaMark for a watermark affect. And a photo will go in the white space.

This beautiful bird is embossed with clear embossing powder.

The word EVERYTHING and the 3 cute flowers are embossed with white embossing powder. The flowers are then punched out with the 1/2" circle punch, to make our own brads. Cute hey!

Recipe
Stamp Set : Always
Ink : VersaMark, Blue Bayou
Card : Sahara Sand, Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Groovy Guava
Punches : slit, 1/2" circle, 1/8" circle handheld
Accessories : double stitched ribbon Blue Bayou, stamp a ma jig , dimensionals

Enjoy!

All About Christmas - Wheel

This is a very quick card I made with the All About Christmas Wheel, that I got for free when I purchased the Merry Merry stamp set. Love getting free stuff! To see the details about the Free Wheelin' Promo click here. There's still time to place your order.

This was so easy and fast, which is what you want when your making 50 or more. I just rolled the wheel across the backing card twice, then once across the very vanilla strip with Always Artichoke ink cartridge. Then after cleaning the wheel thoroughly I inked the word J O Y with real red ink , rolled again on very vanilla card, punched out the O. I layered the very vanilla strip onto a real red strip and attached to card base. I added 2 real red eyelets using my crop a dile. Then stuck the red O on with a dimensional. Easy Peasy!

Can't wait to play with this some more.

Recipe
Stamp Set : All About Christmas - wheel
Ink : Real Red, Always Artichoke-cartridge
Card : Always Artichoke, Real Red, Very Vanilla
Punch : 1" circle
Accessories : crop a dile, eyelets, wheel guide, dimensionals
Happy Free Wheeling

KWenerdesign Colour Inspiration #23

Kristina's Colour Inspiration # 23 was a real challenge for me this week. The colours are bravo burgundy, chocolate chip, pumpkin pie, so saffron and old olive. Three of these colours I've hardly ever used. The other two, chocolate chip & old olive I use all the time. So the challenge for me was how to combine these colours! It did take me a while.
Here it is.
I've inked around all the edgers straight from the ink pad. Coloured with a blender pen. I tried to do something interesting with the old olive ribbon. I don't know if it works, but it is different. Oh, and where's the bravo burgundy? On the tips of the flower. It's the only way I could think of to get that colour in there. Here's the recipe.
Recipe
Stamp Set : Oh, so Lovely
Ink : Choc Chip, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Bravo Burgundy
Card : Choc Chip, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron
Punch : 3/4" circle
Accessories : 5/8" grosgrain ribbon Old Olive, jumbo eyelet, blender pen, crop a dile, dimensionals
Thanks for looking!

New Header

Did you notice my new header ? Look up. What do you think ? No, I didn't make these cards to match my blog, but as they do match so well I thought, why not.

The inspiration came while having dinner at my sister's house. She had these gorgeous paper napkins, and I thought " that would make a great card" so I quickly grabbed a napkin and put it in my bag before they were all covered in gravy.

The colours match so well with Stampin' Up!'s River Rock , Sky Blue and Close to Cocoa.

I stamped the Paisley background stamp on the top 2/3rds of the card, then just stuck left over strips of card and punched out dots on the bottom 3rd. Then I added a sentiment, ribbon and a square clear button. I'm love'n the clear buttons.

Tip : To get the dots in a straight line, place a thin strip of card right along side of the river rock strip ( do not stick down ) then start sticking down the dots, when all stuck just slide out the thin strip of card and there you have a straight line of dots. I like to use the glue pen for this so I can move the dots into the right position before the glue dries.

On this card I used the paisley background stamp as a belly band. Don't the soft sky dots look great on the close to cocoa card? I think so!

Recipe
Stamp Sets : Paisley background, A Little Birthday Cheer
Ink : Close to Cocoa, River Rock, Soft Sky
Card : Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa, River Rock, Soft Sky
Punch : 1/4" circle
Accessories : square clear buttons, hemp twine, double stitched ribbon River Rock, 2 way glue pen, mini glue dots, stamp a ma jig

So make sure you keep all those little left over bits of card, even the tiniest strip can be used.

Enjoy!

Bravo Burgundy, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Soft Sky and Whisper White are the colours for Kristina's Colour Inspiration #22. Such lovely colours.

Here's my card. I reached for the new stamps I received last night, I couldn't resist, had to use them. The Stamp Set is called Live your Dream. Which is just what I'm doing.

Training

I went to the Stampin' Up! field training last night. What a great night. I learnt some new things, meet some lovely people and we even did some stamping. I forgot to take my camera so the very nice Vanessa is going to email me her photos of the samples. Thanks Vanessa. One of the best things about a Stampin' Up! event is the free stuff. We were given a new stamp set called Live your Dreams.(will be available later in the year.) I can't wait to play with it some more.

We made this 6 x 6 scrap page using this set as well as some other great products coming out soon. That's right new punches!!!!! I'm so excited.

You can see the new punches here.

I know it's crooked. Next time I'll take my Stamp a ma jig with me. Can't stamp without it.

Yes the snake is real and alive. My hubby found it at his work and brought it home to show the kids. They wanted to keep it. No Way!!!! It was released back into the bush that same night. Jamie had some great photos for show and tell at school that week.

Mel's Fortnightly Challenge-Colour

This is the gorgeous picture Mel pick for her colour challenge this fortnight. Lovely colours, Ballet Blue, Regal Rose, Barley Banana & a neutral.

I thought I would do some water colouring, cause I need the practice. And when I pulled out my water colour paper I saw that I had a heap of left over bits, so I thought I better try and use some of them. And the card sort of turned into a puzzle. My 7 year old said it was very clever, he like it. I pick Basic Black as the neutral and you can see the Regal Rose and Barley Banana, the Ballet Blue is on those leaf type bits.

Added a bit of sparkle.

Recipe
Stamp Sets: Scribble This, So Many Sayings
Ink : Ballet Blue, Regal Rose, Barley Banana, Stazon black
Card : Basic Black, Regal Rose, Water colour paper
Punches : large oval, small oval, word window
Accessories : aqua pen, black grosgrain ribbon, dazzling diamonds, crystal effects, dimensional

Thanks for a great chellenge Mel.

Enjoy!

Boho Friend Wheel

The boys all went to the football today (rugby league, the real football) so I thought the girls should do something fun too. What can be more fun than shopping, lunch then a chick flick? (besides stamping of course) Nothing I can think of! So my daughter Rebecca and I headed for the shopping centre. We went into all the shops the boys don't like. And the movie we saw was Mamma Mia. Fantastic, we both loved it. It's so good spending time together, away from the boys, to do girl stuff. We'll have to do it more often. Must check paper for the next day game. lol

I made this card when I was making the cards for the Stamp A Stack Cards for Men. It's much the same except I used the Boho Friend wheel instead of the background stamp. And I stitched around the DSP. I'm going to give it to my Father in-law for Fathers Day tomorrow. I'm loving the Outlaw DSP.

I will announce the winner of the punch competition on Wednesday so you still have time to enter here.

I am thinking of starting a monthly challenge. Their so much fun. Let me know what you think.

Keep on Stampin'
