Photo Challenge

Hi everyone, I haven't been doing much this week. I think I needed to recharge my batteries. After last week getting the kids organized for school. Rebecca and Jamie started at a new school so there was lots of new things for us to learn. Like how to find their classrooms. :) The first afternoon I got lost and couldn't find Jamie's classroom. lol We don't really know anyone at this school, except sweet Claire in Jamie's class. (Hi Claire) And her mum who has been wonderful answering all my silly questions. ( Thank you Leanne) So I've been worrying more than I usually would. We're all missing our old friends. But I'm finding everyone is so friendly and helpful and it's so good to be able to walk to school. I now have an extra two hours a day and don't have to worry about school traffic and parking. Wonderful! More time for stamping. Alex goes to a different school and catches the bus and walks. I still worry about him even though he is 14 and I watch the clock every afternoon waiting for him to get home. It must be a mother thing. So Zach and I are trying to get back to our routine, he really misses his brothers and sister. And it's so quiet during the day it's eerie.
So I've got lots of things to catch up on. First up Natasha tagged me for a fun photo challenge.(thanks for thinking of me) Where I go into my picture folder and select the 6th folder and then the 6th photo within that folder. Then post that photo on my blog and give the story behind it. Sounds like fun!
This picture is of Zach back in September 08, he was 14 months. It was the first time he climbed up onto the lounge to watch his favourite show, Teletubbies. He usually sat in the bean bag. He thought he was so very clever doing what the big kids do. He looked so tiny sitting on the big lounge I just had to get some photo's. I managed to get a few before he saw me.
Now I have to tag six other people so they can join in the fun too.
1. Mel
4. Sam
I hope you can play along ladies.

K I S S

I decided to " Keep It Simple S..... " for Kristina"s Colour Inspiration #39. Partly because it's so hot I can't think and because these colours look stunning on the black card. Don't you think!

I've embossed the flower from the Polka Dot Punches Sale-A-Bration set twice on real red and once on green galore card with white embossing powder, then punching out with the 5 petal flower punch. Cutting off some green petals to use as leafs.

Quick, easy and simple.

I'm off to find a cool breeze.
Enjoy.

Mel's Challenge

I love Mel's Challenge this week, It was just what I needed to get me started with scrapping our holiday photos. We went to Rainbow Beach at the Sunshine Coast and it is just beautiful up there. I actually took some really good photos.

I tried to keep the page as natural as I could by keeping the chipboard raw and using natural colours. I did need to put a bit of red in there.

I really enjoyed this challenge and I'm now motivated to get rest of our holiday photos scraped.

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #3

Makeesha's challenge this week is a colour challenge. I was so excited when I saw Choc Chip was one of the colours. Love it. The others colours are Ruby Red, Blue Bayou and Very Vanilla. And Makeesha is right this colour combo works well.
I used the Hidden Garden Rub-Ons on this card, I really love these because there is one sheet of white and one of Choc Chip. So I used a Rub-On for the main image, the greeting and the little dots along the scalloped edge.
So here it is....

Nerine, up in the NT has a great blog called Stampin Addiction. Thought I'd give her Tuesday Layout Challenge a go. I really like the simplicity of this layout, but I did change the circle to an oval. I used the Live Your Dreams stamp set with the DSP Afternoon tea.

I was thinking of a very lovely and special lady while I was making this and I feel so privileged to have meet her and thankful for being her friend. So this card is for you Robyn C, I think you would really like it. You will always have a place in my heart.

Jan Diary/Calender Page

Well here it is, this is what I've been working on this week and the sneak peak I gave you a few days ago. It's a diary/calender. After looking and looking at all the ones at the shop I decided it would be fun to make my own. And it was really fun.
I started with an On Board Art Journal, covered it with the yummy DSP Ginger Blossom then decorated. I tried to keep it flat because it will be going in and out of my bag a lot. When I'm at home it will stand nicely on my desk, so I shouldn't forget anything.

On the inside I have made a calender of the whole year.

This is the January page again trying to keep it flat. The Stamp set I've used here is Embrace Life from the Summer Mini Catalogue. See how it stands up by itself.

Here is the birthday page, so I won't forget any one's birthday. Getting the birthday card mailed on time is another matter.

My children saw what I was doing and wanted to make one too. We used card stock so they can be hung on their walls. We used the Crop A Dile to punch the holes though all the layers of card at the same time, so the holes would match up. Brilliant.

This is Rebecca's January page. She loves the Bail Breeze DSP.

And Jamie made this one. He picked bright summer colours. He is going to draw a picture on the top part. A work in progress.
If you would like to make your own diary/calender I am happy to do a class for you and your friends. Contact me at stampin.with.leah@live.com.au .
Now I'm off to make a start on the February page.
