Get Well Soon.

Remember this card..... I was trying to telling my friend Julie H about a cute get well card using the Pick A Petal stamp set I saw on Splitcoast Stampers ages and ages ago. And as you can see it's kinda hard to describe so I made one. Isn't it cute! I've used Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Basic Black and Whisper White card stock. The greeting is from the Sincere Salutations Set. A stamp a ma jig is a must for this card.

Then I thought I'd dress it up a bit. By adding a bit of DSP Prints Pink Pirouette, the eyelet boarder punch, wide oval punch and a couple of felt flowers with a clear rhinestone brad. Oh, and the black spot in the eyes are stamped with the rubber on the end of a pencil.

So Julie I hope you like this card and get to have a go at making it.

Have fun.

May Swap

Only a few days left to get your creation in for challenge #8.......
Today's card is the one I made for May's swap that Natasha organized. (thanks Natasha)
The rules were to use Designer Series Paper, use one In Colour and use a brand new stamp set from the 09/10 Idea Book and Catalogue. I picked the Trendy Trees stamp set which I received free at convention, with the Funky Forest Wheel. These where both on my wish list so I was very excited to get Trendy Trees for free. The DSP is Good Morning Sunshine and the In Colour's are Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss.
Recipe
Stamp Set: Trendy Trees, Funky Forest Wheel
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze
Card: Sahara Sand, Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze
DSP: Good Morning Sunshine
Punch: corner rounder
Accessories: wheel guide, stamp a ma jig, mat pack & piercing tool, brads not quite navy, dimenionals, snips

I'm lovin receiving all the swaps in the mail (thank you ladies) and I'll put them all up here when I receive them all.

Have a great weekend.

Mojo Monday Week 88

I love the sketch for Mojo Monday this week and I thought the gorgeous bird from the Friends 24-7 stamp set would fit nicely in the circle. Which it did. I stamped him in Not Quite Navy onto very vanilla card stock. The card base and two rectangles are Kraft card. And I've used the beautiful DSP Bella Bleu. This card was quite quick to make, when you've got a great sketch you can't go wrong.

Recipe

Stamp Set: Friends 24-7

Ink: not quite navy

Card: kraft, very vanilla

DSP: bella bleu

Punch: corner rounder

Accessories: taffeta ribbon kraft, cutter kit, vintage brads, dauber, dimenionals

Fifth Avenue Floral.

Here is the card I made for my Mum for Mothers Day. I know mothers Day was weeks ago but my Mum only just got back from a three month trip and I saw her on the weekend. So now she has it I can show you.
I'd been itching to watercolour the rose from the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set, it's so beautiful and I'm really happy with how it turned out. I've also used the eyelet boarder punch, (love it) DSP Raspberry Tart, and the background image is from the Friends 24-7 stamp set. I can't wait to play with it more.

Guest Artist - Shelley McLean

Tonight I want to introduce you to my Guest Artist Shelley McLean. Shelley has been a paper crafter for many years and has the best craft room I have ever seen. (so envious) As soon as I saw Shelley's card I knew I had to share it with you. She has put a lot of work into this card, I love it. I think the word for it is awesome..... She has used the very cute level 3 hostess set Window Dressing.

Shelley also attended the Biggest Morning Tea last week where she purchased a couple of the card making kits. And this is how she put them together. Don't they look great.

Thank you so much Shelley for sharing your creations. Hopefully she will share more of her work with us in the future.

Mel's Stamping Challenge #16

Hi, what crazy weather were having. The storms on Wednesday left us without power for 20 hours. That meant no phones, no computer, no electricity..... The kids had to do homework by candle light. The bathroom did look rather nice with little candles everywhere. Little Zach didn't understand why he couldn't watch Thomas on TV. And we had to get pizza for dinner. :) Apparently their still trying to fix the problem and have hooked our area up to a huge generator. We were so much luckier than some. So it's good to be back online and all caught up.

Mel's Challenge #16 comes from this gorgeous photo of the trees in Canberra. Aren't these colours amazing. We don't get colours like this in Queensland. More mustard, Ruby Red, Old Olive/Garden Green, Choc Chip and a Neutral.

I've used the Inspired By Nature stamp set yet again. I love it. With the greeting from Best Yet, level 1 hostess set. And I used Stampin Write Markers to colour the image and the greeting.
Recipe
Stamp Sets: Inspire by Nature, Best Yet
Ink: old olive, more mustard, ruby red, choc chip
Card: more mustard, choc chip, whisper white
Punches: 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" circle
Football was cancelled tonight due to the fields being underwater, so I can have a play tonight. I've got a couple of projects I want to get started on. Well tonight is the night. :))
Happy Stampin'

Cased from Karen.

Hi, I've had such a busy but fun week. The Biggest Morning Tea was really fun and we helped to raise over $600 for the Cancer Council. Thanks to everyone who came.
Congratulations to Tereesa for a successful first workshop. You did really well and all the guests had a great time. Well done!

USA showed us lots of ways to use this set which is called Inspired by Nature. I'm going to be useing this set a lot. I made the thank you cards for The Biggest Morning Tea with this set as well. I'll have to show you next time.

Recipe
Stamp Set: Inspired by Nature

Leah's Monthly Challenge # 8

Hi, I'm a bit late with this month's challenge, due to being away at Convention, anyway here it is. It's a photo of a gorgeous dona cover I again found at my sister's house.

The colours are Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango, Regal Rose & Whisper White.
Use this pic as your inspiration for a card, scrap page or anything else you might think of.

Entries in by Monday 1st June 7.00pm Brisbane time. Email me your creation or leave a comment on this post with a link to where your creation is. You only have three weeks this time. So you better get stampin'.
I haven't had a chance to make a sample for you but I will as soon as I can.
Have fun.
Edit: here is my sample card for you, at least I got it done before the challenge deadline. grin
I used the Circle Circus stamp set and the Best Yet stamp set. (level 1 hostess) This card was easy and lots of fun playing with all the circles. As you can see I used lots and lots of circle punches.

Thank You Stampin' Up!

I would like to give a very heartfelt thank you to Stampin' Up! for their very generous support in helping us to raise funds for the Australia's Biggest Morning Tea. I was so amazed at the huge box that arrived on Friday full of Stampin' Up! products that will help us raise lots of money for the Cancer Council.

Thank You.

Convention Swaps

Look at this huge pile of swap cards I received at Convention. Of course I had to make a huge pile of cards to be able to swap with. :) I made 50 cards and received 50 back. And there all just amazing.

And this is the one I made using the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set with the Friendly Words wheel.

I made it in lots of different colours.

I'm a lucky girl.

Wednesday, May 6

Hi everyone, hope your all having a fantastic week. The weather here in Brissie is just glorious. After being in Canberra where it was so very cold I'm lovin our warm days.
Here are a couple of pic's from my amazing trip.
This is a pic of me with my lovely roomie's Karen, Julie & Mel. That's Dawson in the middle. Those of you (demonstrators) that stayed at the Waldorf Hotel know what I mean when I say that Dawson made our stay at the Waldorf very memorable. grin

The amazing Shelli Gardner.

My blogger buddie Louise Handmade by Lou, from Brisbane. I'm so glad we got to meet in person.

Our first morning in Canberra 8.00am. Did you notice that every one's wearing jackets.

The colours of the trees are fantastic. We don't get trees like this in Brisbane.

And here we are all glamed up for the Dinner and Awards night.

It was great to meet up with friends like Sharon from Tassie, Robyn from Melbourne and make lots of new friends. It was just like a family reunion. Which I guess is just what it was, we're all part of the Stampin' Up! family with one common passion, Stamping.

I'll be back with pic's of swaps, pressies and make & takes in a day or two. So check back for that.

Until then......
